Washington County Bridge 82517
This Washington County Bridge 82517 project won an environmental stewardship award for innovative design measures including root wads installed along the stream bank and fish habitat pools created under the bridge. The bridge, on CSAH 18, crosses Valley Branch Creek and consists of a 3-span prestressed concrete beam structure with a total length of 152 ft and a 40 ft wide roadway. Structural tube steel railing and concrete formliner were included in the design. At the south end of the bridge, a 40 ft long land bridge supported on steel piling was included to span over poor soils.
Due to the large traffic volume, the structure was designed to maintain traffic on the bridge during construction. Bridge 82517 replaced a structurally deficient bridge.
